Unidirectional glass fiber fabric is made from 1200tex or 2400tex glass fiber roving. The tensile strength of dry fiber is as high as 3240MPa. It is used in increasing load capacity, seismic retrofit, structural reinforcement, concrete repairs, structural strengthening such as increasing shear strength and flexural strength, extending structure’s service life and correcting design defects. Although its strength is a bit lower than CFRP, its price is much lower.
Advantages with FRP Reinforcement
- High strength to weight ratio
- Dimension stability, the glass fiber yarns are fixed tightly by the glued fiberglass yarn of low linear density, and even more, special yellow fiberglass yarns are added in the 90˚ direction, which provides strength in that direction.
- Resistant to chemical corrosion, it’s resistant to most chemicals.
- Fireproof, it will not either burn or support combustion.
- Electrical insulation
- High thermal conductivity

- Slab strengthening
- Bridge strengthening
- Tunnel strengthening
- dock strengthening
- Increase shear and flexural strength
- Increase load capacity
- Column wrap
